On 8th of April 2014, a group more than 230 Thais came to Tioman and celebrated Songkran at Walden Woods. Surprisingly, instead of celebrating the traditional Thai New Year festival in Thailand, here the episode happened in Tioman.  Presented by Dr. Tan Man Ho.

The Songkran Festival (Thai: สงกรานต์, from the Sanskrit word: sakrānti or literally "astrological passage") is celebrated in Thailand as the traditional New Year's Day from 13 to 15 April.  It coincides with the New Year of many calendars of South and Southeast Asia The traditional throwing of water is meant as a symbol of washing all of the bad away and is sometimes filled with fragrant herbs when celebrated in the traditional manner.

A group of more than 230 Thai citizens, mostly ladies, came and celebrated Songkran at Walden Woods for 3 days and 2 nights.  Life in the Woods became so lively with a different traditional culture - foods, songs, dances and music - all took place in this Odysseyian episode. Happy people splashing icy water and powder on one another using pails, pans, water pipes and water guns are everywhere. At night, they ate BBQ seafood and many other foods, drink alcohols to their fill and dance.  During the day, they went to the rocky stream to have a cool deep - and wash away all the "sins" that have been accumulated over the years.

The Songkran episode is surprising and unforgettable!
